Why i left a particular Forum called Chip Forum
And thank God i opted out from the Moderator post. When the Big man at the CHIP magazine invited me for joining the Mod group,in an attempt to cleanse out the vile heathen that plagued the forum, i miraculously opted out. Reasons??
Well, i have exams coming up.And no just in April,i have another one after that in June..That sort of makes me occupied the first half of this year..
Secondly, well,i felt there are ppl more DESERVING than me. I don't see "experience" as a factor, or the number of POSTS made. Its the attitude that matters. Whats the point of having a really old Chipper as a Moderator when he himself needs moderation. There is a friend of mine aliased as "S H A R P T O O T H" who has always been the ire of jealousy. We have discussed several times and i HAVE also OBSERVED that there are many ppl who would want him out
And they did succeed.
Now imagine if i was a MOD, man i wouldn't have lasted a week!
Anyway,Sharpy my friend..you really held your own...u really showed what a true being should be like, mellow, patient and most important-MATURE-.
Here's to Chippers...njoy ur stay there, and savour the taste of victory u got in your vile attempt.
Amen

Virtual Keyboard
Pros:
*Really Cool.
*Actually works.
*Easy to pair and operate.
*Small and Portable
*Has a button at the bottom so if you lift it up, it will auto-shutoff.
Cons:
*Takes some time to get used to the keyboard since your not typing on keys that spring back up.
*Doesn't work well on glossy surfaces due to it reflecting.
*Operating time is about 2 hours which is kind of low
Moved from Wordpress to Blogger
Now what made me do this...hmmm
Well firstly, WP doesnt have customizable templates, though i must admit that Blogger does lack Category system(which i always ignore).
Anyway, my biggest gripe was regarding ADs. WP doesnt let you have ADs on ur blog, unless u are some VIPBlog or some Self-Hosted Blog etc etc..somthing like that. Basically, those who dont have their own webspace, they can SOD off..Yeaa right! Look at xiaxue, she's earning grands every month on free blogger.
Take that WP fanaticos!!
Super Compact Mouse from MoGo
The MoGo Wireless Mouse is a business-card sized, Bluetooth-enabled mouse that stores and recharges neatly inside (yes, inside…) your laptop’s PC card slot. To recharge your MoGo Mouse, just slide it into the empty PC card slot in your laptop. It will fully recharge in less than an hour and provide you with enough power for about 8 or 9 hours of use.
As you can imagine, the MoGo Mouse is specifically designed for people who spend a lot of time traveling like writers, reporters and sales reps. Other mice, even those meant for travelers, usually don’t cut it. Mini-mice (aka “walnut shells”) get lost in your hand and are difficult to maneuver, and the idea of carrying a full-sized mouse defeats the entire purpose of mobility on the go.
The MoGo Mouse is a natural fit for road warriors. Storing it inside you PC Card (PCMCIA) slot is pure genius and the fact that it charges there is just the icing on the cake. The only thing I’d like to see in future models is a scroll wheel. I know that the size of it makes it hard to have a wheel but maybe a touch wheel, like one some laptops, could have been possible.
iDJ iPod Dj Mixer
The iDJ is a compact mixing console with 2 built-in iPod docks. Mixing directly from your iPods gives you the ability to utilize thousands tracks from your iTunes collection at your next party or event. If you need to pull audio from additional sources, you’ll be happy to know that the iDJ has two additional turntables or MP3/CD players inputs. I can see how this would come in handy at an event like a wedding where someone ends up handing the DJ a CD at the last minute.
The iDJ Mixer is both Firewire and USB2.0 compatible, so you can use 3rd Generation iPods (iPod mini, iPod photo) or newer generation models as well.
Technical Details
- Voltage: 110
- Length: 18.5 inches;Height: 5.75 inches;Width: 14.0 inches

Mechanical Rope Climber
The device was featured on the Technology Review magazine with a quite suitable title: “A Tool Worth of Batman’s Utility Belt”. Here is a quote from the article “The Atlas rope climber can be attached at any point along a rope–a rescue worker could get onto a line from a second-story window, for example. It takes about 10 seconds to wrap the rope three times around the capstan. The climbing device can’t shoot a rope up to the top of a building, but Ball says the army already uses grappling hooks to set ropes that soldiers must then climb by hand.”
The key insight to build the rope climber was based on the idea of wraping the rope around a cylinder with many turns, which increases the grip strength drastically without damaging the rope. The students founded a company called Atlas Devices, and they already have a contract to supply the U.S. Army.

World of Warcraft on Samsung UMPC
Yes, that's World of Warcraft running on a UMPC. How sweet is that? I had heard rumors of people getting WoW to run, but seeing it in action really looks great. I wouldn't go on a raid on my UMPC, but I'd definitely go visit the auction house!
LG Employs ATI Graphics for Mobile 3D Gaming
LG Electronics will include the IMAGEON 2300 media processor from ATI Technologies in its forthcoming SV360 phone. The phone employs a 320x240 landscape LCD display and using the IMAGEON 2300, it is able to render scenes containing over 10,000 triangles per frame. The ATI IMAGEON 2300 supports the OpenGL ES 1.0 mobile gaming API.
In addition to its hefty 3D capabilities, the SV360 also features a 3D user interface, a gyroscopic controller and stereo speakers.
Amongst the day's new phones, one puts all others to shame in terms of graphics horsepower. The new SV360 by LG boasts an accelerator chip capable of displaying 1 million polygons per second, around 5 times faster than anything else out there (and with what appears to be Gran Turismo 1). Not only that, but motion sensors built into the handset will allow users to control their games simply by moving their handset in physical space. The gaming experience is displayed on a 2.2 inch LCD built into a mini laptop design. With the graphic performance and motion sensors, what else will keep from people playing Dance Dance Revolution on the subway?

Running Old softwares in VIsta
One concern for Windows XP users is if their favorite software applications will run once they upgrade to Vista.
Luckily, Windows Vista uses a feature called Compatibility Mode which tells the software application that Vista is actually an older OS, specifically Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, or XP.
Here's how it works:
If your software application won't install, open or work properly, right click on the application's .exe file. Select Properties and then click the Compatibility tab. From there, pick the previous Windows operating system you were on (most likely Windows XP). If you're a system operator, you can set this up as an administrator to make it easier for your staff.

Pick your Next-Gen poison
These cards will replace the 7300 series of today and is based on the G86, an 80nm core. The number of shader processors has been halved to 32 and 24 respectively, while both cores will work at 500MHz. The GT model will have slightly faster memories though, 1200MHz vs. 1000MHz. With a 128-bit bus and up to 256MB the performance will most likely be reflected by the price. Below is a table with the cards of today completed with the coming. iPhone fastest mobile ever!!
3 ARM Processor goodness!!
Earlier this year during MacWorld 2007, Steve Jobs introduced the world to Apple's iPhone. The phone, which is available in 4GB and 8GB varieties, set many hearts ablaze with its sleek, touch screen interface and music/widescreen movie playback capabilities.
Today, we have word that the Apple iPhone contains no less than three ARM processors under its touch screen display. Warren East, president and CEO of ARM Holding, wouldn't comment on exactly how many and what type would be used, but noted that "ARM is in 90 percent of the world's [mobile phone] handsets; we're in WiFi, baseband processors and applications processors and most of the world's MP3 players. So it's at least three."
Word on the street, however, is that the iPhone's main processor will be the Marvell PXA320 which was developed by Intel as a part of the XScale processor family. Marvell purchased Intel's XScale division for $600 million USD in June of 2006.
The Marvell PXA320 is available in speeds up to 806MHz (256KB L2 cache); however, there have been samples of the chips demonstrated at 1.2GHz. The processor features Intel SpeedStep and MusicMax technology for comprehensive power management. Also supported is a Wireless MMX 2 2D accelerator with a 768KB frame buffer and support for up to 5MP digital cameras.

Wii will rock you!! PS3 Laguishes...
According to Compete.com, the interest in the Xbox 360 in major online retail outlets passed up the PS3 on November 25th, which is the same time Amazon.com offered up the $100 Xbox 360. Since October, interest in all three consoles grew at an increasing rate, but only the PS3 has suffered any sort of decline. Online demand for the PS3 is on a decline since the unit launched, most likely attributed to the fact people can't find them.
